Free EXIF, XMP & AI metadata viewer
What’s tucked inside
that photo?
Inspect EXIF camera tags, GPS presence, XMP records, IPTC AI source declarations and PNG generation prompts locally in your browser.

Or choose a JPEG, PNG or WebP image from your device, up to 50 MB. No account. No uploads.
Reads EXIF, GPS, XMP, PNG text chunks and C2PA presence locally. Missing metadata never proves “human-made”.

What this viewer inspects
When you select a JPEG, PNG or WebP image, this tool reads the file’s container segments locally on your device:
- EXIF tags: Camera make and model, lens details, exposure settings, software, artist, copyright, timestamps and GPS coordinate fields.
- XMP packets: Creator tool (
xmp:CreatorTool), software agent history, credits and IPTCDigitalSourceTypedeclarations (trainedAlgorithmicMedia, compositeWithTrainedAlgorithmicMedia, algorithmicallyEnhanced). - PNG text chunks (
tEXt,iTXt): Uncompressed text notes, including prompt, seed, sampler and workflow graphs written by local Stable Diffusion, Automatic1111 and ComfyUI pipelines. - Colour space and C2PA presence: Identifies whether the image uses standard sRGB or wide-gamut Display P3 colour, and flags whether an embedded C2PA Content Credentials segment is present.
Unsigned metadata vs signed Content Credentials
Standard EXIF, XMP and PNG text fields are unsigned metadata: they are useful when present, but any metadata editor can add, alter or strip them. When an image also contains a cryptographically signed C2PA manifest, use the AI evidence & Content Credentials checker to verify its cryptographic binding.

Common questions
Are my images uploaded when I view their metadata?
No. Your browser parses EXIF, XMP and PNG text chunks in memory on your device. No image, filename or metadata is sent to a server. See our privacy overview.
How is this different from the Content Credentials checker?
The Content Credentials checker verifies cryptographically signed C2PA manifests. This viewer reads unsigned EXIF, XMP (including IPTC DigitalSourceType) and PNG text chunks such as Stable Diffusion and ComfyUI generation parameters, and flags when a C2PA segment is also present.
How do I remove the EXIF or GPS metadata shown here?
Use the lossless image metadata remover to strip EXIF, GPS coordinates, XMP and PNG text chunks without re-encoding the image.
